As
with many alternative healing approaches throughout the world,
the knowledge and application of herbs is integral. I offer herbal
consultations as a complement to bodywork and massage. Although
I am fascinated with the science that is behind the curative properties
of plants, I also believe that the chemical ingredients considered
responsible are less powerful when isolated from the whole plant.
I encourage the use of the actual plant when creating herbal formulas
for my clients (whether it has been dried or used fresh). The
most common way that I prepare herbal formulas are through food
and teas, in powdered form or as tinctures.
When
assessing a client’s needs, I combine the “wise woman”
approach with that of traditional healing. Some plants work better
with certain people. Everyone has a constitution that is uniquely
different. In order to begin the healing process it is necessary
to first look at the whole person and identify the root of the
problem rather than address the symptoms.

“Herbalism
is common to all peoples and cultures of the world. The shared
experience of alleviating suffering through the use of plant
medicines bridges cultural divides, religious differences, and
racial conflicts.”
David Hoffman
"If you dont thank the spirit of the plant before
you take it from the Earth, it will not heal."
Don Elijio Panti
"Health
is the harmony of life within us, consisting of piece of mind,
happiness and well-being. It is not merely a question of physical
fitness, but it is rather the result of the soul finding free
expression through the mind and body of that individual. Such
a person radiates peace and happiness and everyone in his presence
automatically feels happy and contented."
